Lay Low Moon is a Massachusetts-based folk project built around the songs of Seán McKenna. It was originally conceptualized in 2012 and has existed predominantly as a solo act since 2015. 

Building on the groundwork laid by legendary artists from Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell to Graham Nash, Neil Young, and beyond, Lay Low Moon’s modern take on the classic sound of singer-songwriter-driven folk layers introspective, powerful lyrics over gentle yet rousing acoustic melodies, together a distinctive blend that has earned itself a place in the hearts of a diverse and growing fanbase over more than a decade of refinement.

Now, following a host of achievements including featuring on a compilation for the charity Active Minds (One Hundred Thousand Voices), releasing a full-length album, On This Day Last Year, and gracing the stages of a slew of the Greater Boston area’s most iconic venues, McKenna’s momentum is at an all-time high as he prepares to open a new chapter in the Lay Low Moon story, with new music already in the works, to be officially announced in due time.
